Overview

Recent years have seen a dramatic rise in the number of clients on antiretroviral therapy (ART) receiving multimonth dispensing (MMD). This was further accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for children and others not meeting strict clinical stability criteria. Through a study with children and adults receiving MMD in Cote d’Ivoire — and analyses of routine data on pediatric clients on ART in Mozambique and Eswatini — we looked at patterns in ART dispensing, reasons for transitioning patients off the MMD model, and various patient outcomes within the first year of receiving MMD.

Moderated by Appolinaire Tiam, MD, PhD, Vice President, Technical Strategies and Innovation at EGPAF, this E2A will include panelists Marc N’Goran, MD, MPH, Director, INILI Project, EGPAF in Cote d’Ivoire; Marie-Huguette Kingbo, MD, MPH, Technical Advisor for Program Evaluation, EGPAF in Cote d’Ivoire; Lauren Greenberg, MPH, Senior Research Officer, EGPAF; Lydia Mpango, Senior Clinical Advisor, EGPAF in Eswatini; and Mahoudo Bonou, Technical Director, EGPAF in Mozambique. In this webinar, we will share results from these studies on MMD in Cote d’Ivoire, Mozambique, and Eswatini.
