This prospective cluster randomized study, funded by ARK and CDC, assessed the effect of SMS text message reminders on the retention of HIV-positive patients in PMTCT, pre-ART, and ART services in eight districts of Gaza Province in Mozambique. The study employed a step wedge design with early and late intervention groups to evaluate the acceptability of SMS messages by study participants, as well as the cost-efficiency of its implementation.
