Cost-effectiveness of SMS Reminders Use in the Retention of HIV-positive Patients in PMTCT and ART Services in Gaza Province, Mozambique

This prospective, cluster randomized study, funded by ARK and UKAID, assessed the effect of SMS text message reminders on retention of HIV-positive patients in PMTCT, pre-ART and ART services in eight districts of Gaza Province in Mozambique. The study employed a stepped wedge design with early and late intervention groups to evaluate the acceptability of SMS messages by study participants, as well as the cost-efficiency of its implementation.
