This mixed methods study, funded by Johnson and Johnson, used a quasi-experimental design to document Mentor Mother referral and defaulter tracing processes. It also assessed antenatal clinic (ANC) attendance following the introduction of a standard operating procedure which was designed to improve facility-based referrals.
