Jewelers for Children to Honor Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Other Non-Profits

June 3, 2011, Washington, D.C. – The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will join Jewelers for Children (JFC) and other charities on Sunday, June 5, 2011, to commemorate the jewelry industry’s charitable efforts on behalf of children throughout the year. The 13th annual Facets of Hope dinner will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Jewelers for Children was one of the Foundation’s first donors to invest in our global work,” said Philip O’Brien, Executive Vice President of Communications, Advocacy, and Development for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, who will attend the event. “With JFC’s support, the Foundation has become a leader in the effort to eliminate pediatric AIDS around the world.”
“This event is always a wonderful opportunity to hear about what our legacy charities are accomplishing and to be reminded of the people who they are helping,” said David Rocha, Executive Director of Jewelers for Children. “We are honored to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s lifesaving global efforts.”
JFC, a charitable organization comprised of businesses and individuals in the jewelry and watch industries, has contributed more than $7 million to the Foundation’s programmatic and research work since 1999.
“The Foundation looks forward to this event every year because it gives us the opportunity to thank JFC for their continued support,” continued O’Brien. “As we mark the 30th anniversary of AIDS on June 5, and as we continue to work toward our goal of eliminating pediatric AIDS globally, we are happy to be joining with so many others equally dedicated to bringing hopeful futures to children.”
For more than a decade, JFC has supported children and families around the world through major contributions to pediatric-focused initiatives. By investing more than $37 million in organizations like the Foundation, JFC ensures that children affected by illness, abuse, or neglect have the opportunity to lead healthy and happy lives.
This year’s dinner will honor longtime JFC supporters – the Green Family (Robert, Marc, and John) of Lux Bond & Green, and Debra Puzio of QVC – for their tremendous commitment to children in need.
