Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation to Receive $625,000 from Jewelers for Children

Washington, D.C.—June 1, 2015— Jewelers for Children (JFC) has committed $625,000 to support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s (EGPAF) mission to end AIDS in children worldwide. JFC announced the generous sum on Sunday, May 31, 2015, during its annual Facets of Hope Dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

“JFC unites the generous charitable giving efforts of the jewelry industry to support as many children in need as possible. Both JFC and EGPAF are joined by a common purpose of saving and improving the lives of children worldwide,” said David Rocha, executive director of JFC. “We are proud to continue our partnership with EGPAF and support its work to create a world where no child has AIDS.”

The tremendous impact of this partnership on the lives of mothers and children living with and affected by HIV was highlighted on Sunday through the powerful story of EGPAF Ambassador Florence Ngobeni-Allen. Ngobeni-Allen is an HIV-positive mother who was able to give birth to two HIV-negative boys thanks to the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV services she received in South Africa.

“I am grateful for the efforts that everyone in this room has put forth to give mothers like me the chance to have happy, healthy families,” said Ngobeni-Allen during Sunday’s event. “Thanks to generous partners such as JFC, EGPAF has reached more than 20 million women around the world with lifesaving services that will keep them from passing HIV to their babies. On behalf of mothers and babies everywhere, thank you for championing this lifesaving work.”

EGPAF has been a JFC Legacy Charity Partner since 1999. With its 2015 contribution, JFC has now donated more than $2.8 million to date to fund EGPAF’s lifesaving research and programmatic work. This year’s contribution is a testament to the legacy of commitment shared by EGPAF and JFC.
