Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Accepts $700,000 from Long Time Partner Jewelers for Children

Washington, D.C.—June 6, 2016— Jewelers for Children (JFC) has announced a $700,000 commitment to further the work of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) to end AIDS in children around the world.  The donation was revealed on Sunday, June 5 during JFC’s 18th annual Facets of Hope Dinner held in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

“There’s a reason we reserve the title of Legacy Charity for only a select few partners, like EGPAF. It’s because the impact we’ve been able to achieve together on the lives of children stands the test of time,” said David Rocha, executive director of JFC. “EGPAF has been with us since the beginning, and we are proud to continue to build on our shared legacy, to continue to help EGPAF bring health and hope to children living with AIDS and ensuring the next generation is AIDS-free.”

Since EGPAF became a Legacy Charity Partner in 1999, JFC has given more than $11 million to date towards EGPAF’s lifesaving programmatic, research, and advocacy work.  Over the years these generous funds have helped enable EGPAF to reach more than 24 million women with services to prevent transmission of HIV to their babies.

“It’s not only the generosity, which has been considerable, but the consistency and longevity that has made our relationship with JFC so special,” said Trish Devine Karlin, executive vice president external affairs and business development. “It is because of long time partners like JFC that EGPAF has been able to reach millions of women, children, and families affected by HIV with the care and treatment they desperately need.”

EGPAF thanks JFC, and the business and individuals it represents, for this important donation and looks forward to continuing to work together, with shared commitment and vision, until no child has AIDS.
