PEPFAR Stewardship and Oversight Act of 2013

Congress has introduced the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Stewardship and Oversight Act of 2013. This piece of legislation reaffirms important bi-partisan Congressional commitment to the program that is the cornerstone of the U.S. global health portfolio.

This bill builds on PEPFAR's legacy of life-saving work, including efforts to help mothers and children around the world that have been touched by the HIV epidemic. EGPAF is very proud to be a key implementer of PEPFAR-supported programs. As of 2012, PEPFAR provides HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention services to 5.1 million men, women and children worldwide. Back in June, Secretary of State John Kerry announced that 1 million babies globally have been born HIV-free thanks to PEPFAR’s support. These are historic numbers.

Contact your Senator today and ask them to co-sponsor the PEPFAR Stewardship and Oversight Act of 2013. Their support will be critical to moving this bill forward, and moving the world towards an AIDS-free generation.
