Standard Panorama (Kenya): Ray of Hope as Child AIDS Numbers Fall

Standard Panorama (Kenya) | July 22, 2010

Kenya's Standard Panorama tells the story of a woman living with HIV who has given birth to two HIV-negative children, thanks to Foundation-supported PMTCT services and support groups.

"'I did not know what was killing my children. Everyone including my parents in law said I was bewitched that is why they were dying. They wanted me to be banished from the village," narrates Nginyo.

"Nginyo, 38, who is a beneficiary of a project run by the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) dubbed Zingatia Maisha, is lucky to have known her HIV status and started treatment before her fourth pregnancy."
