16th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2011)

December 4, 2011 - December 8, 2011

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The 16th International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA 2011) seeks to mobilize African leaders, the scientific community, medical practitioners, the private sector, partners, and communities to increase their ownership of, commitment to, and support for their response to HIV and AIDS; tuberculosis; malaria; and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It also will provide an ideal forum for the exchange of knowledge, skills, and best practices from around the world to promote evidence-based responses that help achieve the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Finally, the event will create opportunities for attendees to set priorities and define policy and program agendas that enhance the mobilization and effective utilization of resources. Visit the event website at http://www.icasa2011addis.org/.

The Foundation was accepted to present 11 oral abstract-driven presentations, nine poster presentations and to publish five abstract CD-ROMs at this year’s ICASA. In conjunction with its other track partners at ICASA, the Foundation will be co-hosting a non-abstract-driven session regarding transition. In addition, the Foundation will host two satellite sessions; one on pediatric HIV developments in Africa and another on male involvement on the elimination of pediatric HIV.

Media representatives are invited to download the Foundation's latest toolkit "A Journalist's Guide to Reporting on Pediatric HIV and AIDS."
