6th IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention

July 17, 2011 - July 20, 2011

Rome, Italy

The 6th IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2011) – the world’s largest open scientific conference on HIV/AIDS – was held in Rome, Italy on July 17-20, 2011. The event was organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS) in partnership with Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italian National Institute of Health), the leading technical and scientific body of the Italian National Health Service.

The IAS is an independent association of HIV/AIDS researchers, professionals, and policymakers that promote dialogue and advocate for continued discussion and progress in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Held every two years, the IAS conference attracts thousands of the world’s leading scientists, clinicians, public health experts and community leaders to examine the latest developments in HIV-related research and to explore how scientific advances can inform practical global responses to HIV/AIDS. Visit the event website at www.ias2011.org.

At IAS 2011, the Foundation conducted workshops, satellite sessions,
oral presentations, and a bridging session, and will exhibit a variety of educational posters and abstracts.

Although IAS 2011 has ended, media representatives are nonetheless invited to download the Foundation's latest toolkit "A Journalist's Guide to Reporting on Pediatric HIV and AIDS."
