The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation will work tirelessly to create a culture of hope, to accelerate scientific discovery, and to imagine a world in which children and families live free from HIV/AIDS.

MISSION
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.

Caring for Your HealthOur health benefits program offers medical, dental, and vision insurance to all full-time employees.

Program highlights include:

  • Employees, spouses, and dependents are eligible for coverage on the first day of the month after the date of hire.
  • The Foundation offers several medical plan options. Premiums are covered 100% for employees and dependents on a number of the medical plans offered, and low-cost upgrade options are also available.
  • Dental and vision coverage is available to all eligible employees at no cost and dependent coverage is available at a minimal cost.
  • The Foundation offers medical, dental, and vision coverage for eligible same-sex domestic partners.
     

Securing the Future of Loved OnesThe following benefits are offered to all full-time employees with premiums paid by the Foundation:

  • Life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance;
  • Long- and short-term disability insurance; and
  • Emergency travel assistance benefits.
     

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
FSAs, which allow employees to redirect a portion of their salary -- pre-tax -- for reimbursement of dependent care and un-reimbursed medical expenses, are available to all Foundation employees.

Supplemental Voluntary Insurance
The Foundation offers supplemental insurance policies to be paid for by the employee.

Planning Ahead 403(b) Retirement Plan
The Foundation offers a 403(b) retirement plan. Employees are eligible on the first day of the month after completing the first 90 days of employment.

Plan highlights include:

  • A matching employer contribution of up to 5 percent of eligible compensation;
  • A three-year vesting period; and
  • Contributions made on a pre-tax basis.

Balancing Your LifeEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP program is available to full-time employees and is designed to assist covered employees and their immediate families with managing general life issues and stresses, ranging from everyday to severe. The EAP provides 24-hour, toll-free access to professional advice, referrals, and counseling. The employee’s premium is covered by the Foundation.

Transportation Benefits
The Foundation offers either paid parking in a garage or secured parking lot or Metro transit reimbursement. The transportation benefits differ at each Foundation office location.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
The PTO program combines vacation, floating holidays, personal days, and sick leave into one large bank of time off. The PTO benefit for full-time employees is accrued on a per-pay-period basis and the accrual level is determined by the employee’s length of employment. The Foundation also recognizes 11 designated holidays (including two Foundation-designated holidays) per year and offers four additional days of paid leave during the summer months.

Flexible Work Arrangements
The Foundation is committed to giving employees the day-to-day flexibility they need to balance their personal and professional commitments, as well as providing opportunities for more formalized, long-term flexible work arrangements when appropriate. The Foundation currently offers the following flexible work arrangements: flextime, compressed work schedules, and telecommuting.

Health Club Membership
The Foundation has made arrangements with Sports Club Network to offer discounted membership rates for our Washington, D.C., and New York staff. Spouses and domestic partners are welcome to join.

Tuition Reimbursement Program
The Foundation offers a tuition reimbursement program to acknowledge and support our employees’ desire to continually learn and enhance their skills to improve their productivity.
