The start to the season: Columbia University Dance Marathon
By Sydney Van Horn | November 12, 2013
It’s that time of year again–the beginning of The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF)’s UP 4 THE FIGHT Dance Marathon season! Every year thousands of college students around the United States rally together to dance between 12-26 hours on their campuses, taking a physical stand against pediatric HIV/AIDS.
This year’s Dance Marathon season will kick off on November 23 -24 at Columbia University in New York City. Students will be led by Columbia’s marching band into the 13th Columbia University Dance Marathon (CUDM) to start 18 hours of continuous dancing! From 1 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, dancers will be entertained by student dance performances, partake in interactive educational activities, and hear from EGPAF staff and EGPAF Ambassador Janice McCall, all while fundraising for the global fight to eliminate pediatric HIV/AIDS.
