Quote of the Day: The Path to Zero

“The path to zero -- zero new infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths -- is clearer today than ever before. Universal access to antiretroviral therapy can help pave the way.” – Michel Sidibé, Executive Director of UNAIDS.

In July 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) released new HIV/AIDS care and treatment guidelines  to pave the way for an AIDS-free generation.  These guidelines include recommendations to provide lifelong antiretroviral therapy (ART) to all HIV-positive pregnant and breastfeeding women, and expand pediatric treatment of HIV.

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) has committed to scaling up prevention of mother-to-child-transmission of HIV services to sites throughout the 15 countries where we work.
