Manga Devi Tharangini (right, standing)  learned her HIV status late in her pregnancy but received antiretroviral therapy (ART) during her delivery at an Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) -supported clinic where her daughter, Keshaua, (center) also received ART.  Keshaua was born and remains HIV-negative.

Since 2002, EGPAF has partnered with the Solidarity and Action Against the HIV Infection in India (SAATHII) project. Together, we have tested more than 1 million women and provided mothers like Manga with prevention of mother-to-child transmission services. EGPAF and SAATHII support more than 500 health facilities in more than 60 districts, providing mothers like Manga with the resources and knowledge to be positive that their children are HIV-negative.
