Photo of the Day: Health Workers, Dedicating their Lives to Saving Others

By EGPAF | October 25, 2013

Sadia is a health care manager at the Ruangwa District Hospital, an Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF)-supported clinic in Tanzania. Each day, she tests, counsels, and mentors HIV-positive women about the importance of taking ownership of their personal health and the health of their children.

“The peak of the HIV epidemic in this area was in 2004, but people weren’t aware of what was going on. Even the clinics didn’t handle it well. Now, there is much more awareness. HIV education is integrated across all of our services.”

Dedicated health care providers like Sadia are at the forefront of HIV/AIDS care and treatment. EGPAF would not be able to do our work without their passion, dedication, and commitment to ending pediatric HIV/AIDS.
