More Awards for Foundation Videos

When it comes to video awards, it’s always an honor to be nominated…but it’s also great to win.

We were excited to learn this week that our latest advocacy video – “Countdown to an AIDS-Free Generation” – won a Silver Telly, the highest of accolades given by the 33rd annual Telly Awards.

The Tellys are given to outstanding TV and online commercials, videos, and films produced by some of the best ad agencies, production companies, and TV stations in the business.

We were extremely proud that among nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and other countries, our video and our issue of pediatric AIDS rose to the top.

“Countdown” premiered last year on World AIDS Day at the Harvard AIDS@30 International symposium, and brought the often overlooked voices of children and mothers to the discussion of thirty years of the AIDS pandemic.

We’d like to once again extend our thanks to Long Story Short: Jessica Stuart Media, Inc. for another successful video collaboration.

We also learned this week that another video we produced with Long Story Short – “Project HEART” – was nominated for a DoGooder Nonprofit Video Award in the “Fearless Video” category.

Best Fearless Video is a special category to honor those videos that were entered into this year's contest that exemplify ways that nonprofit organizations are experimenting, taking risks and sharing big ideas through video.

Project HEART was produced to show the transformative effect of one of the Foundation’s signature initiatives implemented with the U.S. CDC. Over the past eight years, Project HEART brought HIV prevention and treatment to children, women, and families in sub-Saharan Africa hardest hit by the epidemic.

Now for the important part: How to vote and promote. It’s incredibly easy and you can do it every day between now and March 28, when voting closes.
