AEPhi and EGPAF: A Partnership of Support and Sisterhood

Since 2000, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) remains one of the national beneficiaries of Alpha Epsilon Phi (AEPhi) sorority, with nationwide chapters that have generously raised more than $825,000 to support EGPAF’s efforts to end AIDS in children.

Last week, hundreds of women from across the nation convened in Tampa, FL for AEPhi’s National Convention to discover the treasures of sisterhood and philanthropy. On June 25, EGPAF received the honor to thank each and every sister during the Convention’s PHIlanthropy Luncheon for committing support to EGPAF’s lifesaving work. Jake Glaser attended the event for the first time and shared stories of his mother and Susie Zeegen, EGPAF co-founders and AEPhi alumni, as well as the incredible work that EGPAF is doing around the world with the support of AEPhi sisters.

“With every dollar, you raise awareness about our cause within your campus community. You help us educate the next generation of advocates, scientists, researchers, leaders, and supporters, who will become dedicated to helping my mother and Susie’s work,” shared Jake Glaser.

Alpha Epsilon Phi sisters are to be EGPAF’s voice on their campuses and in their communities, and to unite in sisterhood to stand UP 4 THE FIGHT – until no child has AIDS. Susie Zeegen shared about her years as an AEPhi sister during a recent interview:

“My experience with AEPhi was certainly the basis of forming some very close friendships… it’s those kinds of bonds that are life altering and I think sorority sisters are there to be the family for each other forever and I think that’s what AEPhi has continued to do through both the relationship with Elizabeth and me.”
