At CROI, New Research into Old Challenges

The Conference on Retroviruses and
Opportunistic Infections (CROI) held in March
of this year yielded new discoveries and
raised new questions.
The needs of HIV-positive women living in remote areas were front and center at the recent Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI), held last month in Atlanta, GA. A few weeks later, EGPAF staff gathered to talk about the conference and what its findings mean for people living with HIV around the world.

This morning, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke with media and youth around the world during the 59th Global Town Hall meeting of her tenure as Secretary of State. She has held Town Hall meetings around the world, giving journalists and citizens of countries she has visited the opportunity to ask her questions about the United States and its international relationships and policies. Today’s town hall meeting was special, as Clinton’s last day as Secretary of State is Feb. 1.

Barbara Bush Visits Foundation's Office on Behalf of Global Health Corps

The Foundation was thrilled to welcome Barbara Bush – President and co-founder of Global Health Corps (GHC) and former First Daughter – to our Washington, D.C. office yesterday to present on GHC’s work and its successful partnership with the Foundation.  

GHC and the Foundation began partnering earlier this year, with GHC sending two fellows to work on the monitoring and evaluation team in the Foundation’s Malawi country office.
