Pastor Joseph and his family
Once a month, regardless of the weather, a group of 30 men and women congregate at Pastor Joseph Muhemberi's house in Vihiga, Kenya for their regular Mwambuli Support Group meeting.
In the local Luyhia language, the word "mwambuli" means "teacher" or "helper." After testing positive for HIV in 2006 and participating in a Foundation-sponsored support group, Pastor Joseph decided that he needed to teach his community about HIV/AIDS.

This week in the Kingdom of Lesotho – a mountainous country of just over two million people in Southern Africa – the source of that inspiration was put on display for all to see. Jake Glaser, the son of Elizabeth Glaser, was recently invited to sit down with CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, to talk about his life as a young adult living with HIV, the Foundation’s global efforts to eliminate pediatric AIDS, and what it means to carry on his mother’s legacy.

Earlier this week, Jake Glaser, Elizabeth Glaser's 25-year-old son, addressed the Communications Workers of America at their annual convention, held this year in Washington, D.C. Since his mother addressed the convention 20 years ago, CWA has been one of the Foundation's most generous partners. (video after the jump).

Today, the Obama Administration’s
Office of National AIDS Policy unveiled its
National HIV/AIDS Strategy at a White House event, with Foundation President and CEO Charles Lyons and other partners, policymakers, and members of the HIV/AIDS community in attendance.
Later at a reception, President Obama mentioned
Foundation Ambassador Ben Banks in his remarks, commending him for being an inspiration to others in the fight against HIV. Ben, who was in attendance at the White House with his wife Kasiah, has been living with the virus for 29 years since he was infected as an infant.
