First things first: Thank you for visiting a new and improved pedaids.org.

If you’re a fan of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and you’ve visited our site in the past, we want to thank you for returning. If you’re a first time visitor looking for more information about who we are and what we do, we encourage you to take 3 minutes and 58 seconds out of your day to watch this video.

Our hope is that it will answer most of your questions about the Foundation and our work, and leave you with the conviction that we all share: The time to eliminate pediatric AIDS is now.

The Time to Eliminate Pediatric AIDS is Now from EGPAF on Vimeo.

If the video doesn’t answer all of your questions, our new site most certainly will. It draws upon our more than two decades of work fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic in the U.S. and globally, gathering our collective experiences and the latest innovations to eliminate HIV and AIDS in children worldwide.

Our goal is to use the new site, and especially this blog, to share all of that with all of you.

We want you to see first-hand the impact our work has on the people we help – the prevention services that allow an infant to be born HIV-free…the treatment that keeps HIV-positive children, mothers, and families healthy…and the care and support that allows them to lead full and healthy lives.

We also want to show you the amazing people we work with – the resilience and dedication of our staff of more than 1,300 (9 out of 10 working in the field, currently in 17 countries), and the successes and challenges we meet along the way.

Vital to achieving our mission is your continued interest and support. This blog will bring you fresh content multiple times a week as we survey the latest developments in lifesaving programs, cutting-edge research, and global public policy and advocacy efforts.

Along the way we’ll also feature personal stories, photo essays, and videos from the field to showcase the voices and images of those on the front lines.

Now is a pivotal time in the goal to eliminate pediatric AIDS globally. We hope to keep you connected to our progress as we get closer to a generation free of HIV.

Please visit us again tomorrow, when we talk about one way to achieve that – the ongoing research for the development of an HIV vaccine.
