This weekend, CNN International makes the trek to the mountains of Lesotho, following Foundation pony courier Potso Seoete as he delivers critical HIV drugs and test results on horseback to remote health clinics – located more than 10,000 feet above sea level.

The weekly feature program Inside Africa will highlight the Horse-Riding for Health program – developed by the Foundation in Lesotho to address that country’s unique challenges of access to HIV services – this weekend and next week.

The segment will air in Europe and Africa at the following times (all in GMT):

Saturday: 12:00 PM, 5:30 PM
Sunday: 12:30 AM
Tuesday: 8:30 AM

CNN International reporter Robyn Curnow interviews Lesotho Country Director Dr. Leo Buhendwa about the innovative program, which has proved to be a lifeline to communities in the country’s mountainous district of Mokhotlong.

The segment also features a hard-working Basotho nurse, and a mother and daughter living with HIV – all of whom depend on Potso’s regular deliveries to their isolated health center.

You can read CNN’s article about the program, and also watch the full segment on CNN International’s site or below.

I think the program is very good for this country, which I was born in 1989. After watching this I think to myself that it has been over said about the situation. I visit lesotho not less than 3 times a year and I help out in the Small community from TY with my brother who works as well everyday to make the difference. I know the situation is very bad, but please dont put it as it is the end of everything. Medication is not the only solution in this country. Organizations like this should be able to persuade big companies on investments in the country. If you look at how many people have finished education and have no jobs, you will find out that there is a lot you can do in this country which can benefit both the country and yourself. Low taxes, cheap labor and a lot of qualified people with no jobs. I would hope that someone take the other step of looking into this and put it in action. there is a lot to do to help in Lesotho, not just Aids and donations, Investments and Industrious can also help. People turn to do many things and the sickness can come easily to anyone who is mentally frustrated and has no job. There is a lot i can say but I myself Import products from Lesotho to Europe as my way of showing that there is a lot to do than just talk of Aids.
