This week, the buzz in Washington, D.C. and around the country is all about the federal budget and the possibility of a government shutdown. Some members of Congress are calling for drastic cuts to foreign aid – as high as $800 million to HIV/AIDS programs worldwide.

If approved, the impact of these cuts would be devastating for millions of children and women living with HIV around the world.

Recent studies have shown that Americans have many misconceptions about how much the federal government actually spends on these programs – so we decided to set the record straight.
