Charity Miles for EGPAF

Our Foundation Ambassadors are essential to how we share what we do. They travel across the United States and around the world, sharing information about how mother-to-child HIV transmission is preventable and what the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is doing to create a generation free of HIV/AIDS. The United Airlines Charity Miles program helps us get our Ambassadors from college campuses to UN headquarters and back to their homes and families. This holiday season, EGPAF is one of 39 nonprofit organizations that could potentially win up to 10 million free air miles from United Airlines (that’s enough to circumnavigate the globe 401 times!)

Josephine, a Foundation Ambassador from Uganda, shares with us what the Charity Miles program means to her:

“My name is Josephine and I am a Foundation Ambassador for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation in Uganda. Last year I had the opportunity to travel to the United States to educate my American peers about pediatric AIDS at the UCLA Dance Marathon, benefiting the Foundation. The visit was one of the greatest experiences in my life. It opened up my mind and taught me that just one student, one kid, has the power to save another person’s life. The visit also inspired me to start my own similar program in Kampala, Uganda. I do not know when I will, but I promise it will be done in my own country. I want to make my Ugandan peers smile.

As an Ambassador, I speak out for fellow HIV-positive children at national conferences and events. The Charity Miles the Foundation receives from its generous donors help me make a greater impact, and unite me with different people, like other Ambassadors, policymakers, and supporters. Traveling with the Foundation also teaches me what other people around the world are doing about AIDS. I learn so much from Miles.”

We’re the only HIV/AIDS organization in the United Airlines Charity Miles program, and we need your help to win. To vote, visit http://10millioncharitymiles.com today and cast your vote for EGPAF!
