Annual Picnic Rocks, Raises $1.3 Million for Foundation

The Foundation hosted its 20th annual A Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic June 7, drawing more than 2000 supporters and raising more than $1.3 million. Families and famous faces—including supermodel Heidi Klum; actors Henry Winkler, Billy Crystal, Mark Wahlberg, and Sharon Stone; musicians Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, husband Pete Wentz, and their 6-month-old son Bronx; reality star Lauren Conrad; and former NFL great Michael Strahan—spent a beautiful day playing carnival games, enjoying incredible food, and rocking out to a stellar performance by superstar Miley Cyrus.

A Time For Heroes also kicked off Join the Moment, the Foundation's 20th anniversary campaign to create a generation free of HIV. Guests participated in the campaign by assembling Generation Free kits full of baby blankets and vital medical supplies, which will be delivered to women and babies in need in Uganda.
