Roy E. Disney Passes Away at 79
12/17/2009
January 10, 1930 – December 16, 2009
Roy E. Disney, son of Walt Disney Company co-founder Roy O. Disney and nephew of Walt Disney, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
The Walt Disney Company has long been one of the Foundation’s most valued partners, serving as a sponsor of the A Time for Heroes Celebrity picnic and providing monetary support for our important work. As a member of the family business for more than 50 years, Mr. Disney supported the Foundation’s efforts through his passion and dedication to children and families around the world. The Walt Disney Company has brought its special magic to our events through reading areas, themed activity booths, and the participation of Disney stars.
We are saddened to hear of this loss to the Disney family and the Walt Disney Company.
