Dr. Denis Tindyebwa Honored as HIV/AIDS Pediatric Care Innovator

Dr. Denis Tindyebwa, who directs the pediatric HIV care and treatment program for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, recently was honored as a recipient of George Washington University Law School’s
“Profile in Creativity and Innovation” award. The award, which recognizes individuals who have advanced creativity and innovation around the globe, recognized Dr. Tindyebwa’s achievements as an HIV/AIDS pediatric care innovator.
Embracing new resources and research methods, Dr. Tindyebwa’s accomplishments include leading the African Network for the Care of Children Affected by AIDS, and founding clinics such as the Pediatric AIDS Clinic at Mulago National Teaching Hospital in Uganda. Dr. Tindyebwa also oversaw the development of a handbook on HIV/AIDS in children and has designed guidelines for counseling children infected with HIV.
