Zimbabwe: Moving To Eliminate Pediatric AIDS
While great progress has been made in the fight against HIV and AIDS globally, the number of children living with HIV on the African continent is high and rising. An estimated two-thirds of the world’s HIV-positive adults and children reside in sub-Saharan Africa – and in Zimbabwe, there were an estimated 1.3 million individuals living with HIV in 2008 (source: UNAIDS). Of these, 120,000 were children under the age of 15. EGPAF continues to work closely with the Ministry Of Health and Child Welfare, partners, health workers, volunteers and beneficiaries in pursuit of the elimination of pediatric AIDS in Zimbabwe.
