EGPAF Co-Authors Issue Brief with Frontline Health Workers Coalition
EGPAF has co-authored an
issue brief with the Frontline Health Workers Coalition entitled
Saving Lives on the Frontline: Eliminating Pediatric HIV and AIDS. The brief discusses how frontline health workers are critical in achieving the goals of The Global Plan towards the elimination of new HIV infections among children and keeping their mothers alive. It emphasizes the need for additional health workers, as well as better training and support for those already in the field.
To accompany the brief, EGPAF also produced an
infographic representing an HIV-positive couple’s interactions with frontline health workers throughout the woman’s pregnancy in order to demonstrate the different cadres of workers involved in one instance of the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
