Description:
This is UCLA Dance Marathon’s ninth year as a part of the Foundation family. Striving to educate the UCLA community about the HIV/AIDS pandemic while actively engaging students, faculty, staff, and community members, Dance Marathon raised close to 365,000 for the Foundation and two camps for HIV-positive children in 2009, and more than $380,000 in 2008.
Spanning over two days, the 26-hour event involves more than 2,500 students and community members, all committed to eradicating pediatric AIDS. DM has established itself as a tradition on the UCLA campus and in the Los Angeles community, constantly looking for new, innovative ways to unite students, community activists, celebrities, and leaders around the cause of pediatric AIDS.
This year, Dance Marathon at UCLA provided another monumental weekend of campus unity, performance, entertainment, energy, education, and an increasing and ongoing commitment to the cause.
Dance Marathon is one of the largest student-run philanthropy events on the West Coast, as well as the Foundation’s largest college donor nationwide.
