The Foundation's Caring for Kids 101 program empowers students and student organizations to join in our many efforts to eradicate the global AIDS pandemic. In addition, the program aims to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS among college students while educating them on the risks associated with the disease.
More than 300 college campuses have partnered with Caring for Kids 101 since the program was launched on World AIDS Day (December 1) in 1999, and more join every year. Dance marathons are the core event of our program. Students dance for 12, 18, or 24 straight hours to raise money for children and families around the world. The Foundation also benefits from many other campus events each year, including Greek Weeks, Million Penny Drives, sports tournaments, Greek sings, concerts and fraternity/sorority events.
