The U.S. Agency for International Development

The U.S. Agency for International Development The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has partnered with EGPAF since 2002 to provide HIV prevention, care, and treatment services to children and families in developing countries. The first USAID cooperative agreement with EGPAF was for the global Call to Action project, with a ceiling of $100 million to support prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) services in 12 countries. This flagship project was extended twice and closed in September 2010. Beyond the global project, USAID also has awarded bilateral agreements to EGPAF for HIV/AIDS work in Lesotho, Mozambique, Rwanda, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, with a total ceiling value of more than $141 million. EGPAF also receives USAID funds as a partner to other organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. As a partner on the PATH AIDSTAR consortium, EGPAF also is eligible for potential task order awards from USAID.
