Cornelia van Zyl

Country Director, Rwanda

Cornelia van Zyl is the country director for EGPAF in Rwanda. She first worked as EGPAF’s senior advisor for monitoring and evaluation and communication in Rwanda before her promotion to country director in 2008. Before joining EGPAF, van Zyl worked for the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belgium and the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where she established HIV clinical services programs with integrated family planning. van Zyl holds a master’s degree in anthropology from The Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium; a master’s degree in French language and literature from the University of Paul Valéry, Montpellier, France; and an honors degree in French and a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
